FVWM-Crystal aims to create an easy to use, eye-candy but also powerful desktop environment for Linux or other Unix-like operating systems. It uses following programs: FVWM as a window manager and "main core", different ways to provide icons on the desktop including support for many file managers and custom commands, xterm, aterm, mrxvt or urxvt as terminal emulators, MPD or XMMS2 as music players (there's built-in support for controlling these programs), and several other tools for different functions, like setting a wallpaper or making screen shots.

More information about requirements can be found on the download page.

Current version: 3.3.2

This release provides 2 new recipes (themes) for laptops with ACPI support and some bug fixes: The new LapLeft with ACPI and LapRight with ACPI recipes are based on LapLeft and LapRight, At the same time, a few glitches in the LapLeft and LapRight recipes was fixed, inclusive the alpha transparency support of stalonetray (which obviously fix the notification area colourset in all recipes when stalonetray is in use).

The other fixes are a longer delay before bringing the nested Xephyr sessions into full screen, a Debian patch was applied which move the battery checks from the /dev API to /sys. Stalonetray was fixed with 1 icon width in the LapLeft end LapRight recipes.

The few remaining fixes are internal fixes, see the ChangeLog file for details.
